“Observe a bamboo for ten years.
Become a bamboo!
Then, forget it all and paint”
Integrative beyond Integrative
My name is Iason Venetsanopoulos. I was born in Athens in 1984. Psychotherapy and painting are the way of life I have chosen. It goes beyond the hours I spend in front of a canvas or sitting in the therapist's chair. I started my studies in Counseling and then in Cognitive Psychotherapy in 2015. My initial studies were in Painting at the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I completed my studies in 2009, and since then, I have been painting and exhibiting my work to this day. During those years, I regularly attended Philosophy in the Department of Political Science with Professor Gerasimos Vokos, which was my first substantial exposure to philosophical concepts and my introduction to Freud, psychoanalytic theory, and the world of psychotherapy. I have lived in Indonesia for a year, traveled twice to China, and spent a few months in Madrid. These travels played a significant role in my personal search. Since 2010, I have been living permanently in Athens. I completed my studies as a Mental Health Counselor in 2017 and finalized my training as a Cognitive Psychotherapist in 2024. Psychotherapy and painting are two inseparable parts of my life. I love both, and one nourishes the other.
